Getting my green card was just the beginning; the real journey started when I wanted to become a U.S. citizen. The staff at the North Carolina Immigration Law & Justice Center were outstanding—they genuinely care about helping you succeed. I am now a proud citizen and ready to use my voice and vote. I highly recommend their services to everyone in need.

The legal assistance I received from the center was invaluable; they guided me through every step and made the process so much easier.
Frequently asked questions
help_outline What should I do if immigration agents come to my home?
Prepare a plan by filling out a preparedness plan and putting it in a folder labeled 'Privilege & Confidential'. Make sure someone you trust has it. Keep your doors locked and paste a 'Know Your Rights' flyer at your door. If agents come, don’t open the door, ask for a search warrant, and exercise your right to remain silent.
help_outline How can I know my rights when interacting with ICE?
You should not disclose any personal information unless you are sure of the identity of the agents. Always ask for proper identification from any agents approaching you.
help_outline What is the procedure if ICE approaches me at work?
Have a plan prepared with your co-workers. Keep valid documentation with you, but do not provide foreign IDs. If approached, remain silent, ask for a warrant, and do not consent to a search.
